This mouth blown carafe is reminiscent of historical absinthe carafes. Carafes like this one, were commonly used to hold water in bars and bistros.

Dripping water by a carafe was the most utilized method of adding water to the absinthe. The correct technique is to continuously drip the iced water as slowly as possible until the sugar has completely dissolved. This also allows the oils within the absinthe to release, slowly perfuming the air.
