This elegant long spoon is a very high quality stainless steel absinthe spoon. Absinthe spoons like this one are reproductions of the oldest designs of all absinthe spoon. It has heart like shapes on the grill in the middle of the handle used to hold the sugar cube while preparing a traditional absinthe. Drinkers would turn the spoon upside down and lay it across the glass to hold their sugar cube. Once the water is slowly poured over the cube and the sugar is dissolved, you would then use the spoon end to stir the sugar water and absinthe together.
